Systematic Reviews

This guide is intended for students, research assistants and faculty who are planning to undertake a systematic review, or who are interested in applying systematic research methods to a current project.

Help From the Library

The Librarians can assist faculty and students embarking on systematic reviews with the following services, available by booking a research consultation.

  • Recommendations regarding database selection, search strategies, etc.

  • Navigating the controlled vocabulary in CINAHL and Medline Complete.

  • Using limits to apply your inclusion/exclusion criteria, boolean searching and truncation.

  • Information about finding full text or using the Library’s Inter-library loan service to acquire resources not locally available at FranU

  • Research consultations can be tailored to the patron's needs, from general search assistance to answering a specific question or working on a specific strategy.
