This guide will help you to use the library resources and services during temporarily limited operations. Please feel free to contact a librarian with any questions.

Library Covid Procedures

University Library Covid Procedures 

Current Campus Status 

  • COVID-19 has been added to schedule of required immunizations for students
  • Incoming students must complete and submit their Immunization Form through Softdocs to remove registration hold on their account for SP2022
  • Unvaccinated students may be subject to testing
  • Face masks covering the nose and mouth are optional indoors for both vaccinated and not vaccinated individuals
  • Social distancing recommended
  • COVID-19 vaccine events are regularly offered on campus
  • Campus community is strongly encouraged to get COVID booster when eligible
  • Campus community is encouraged to self-report cases

Library COVID-19 Procedures:

  • Hand sanitizer is available at each building. 
  • Front door entry only.
  • Reserve collection - Copies of 1 chapter or up to 30 pages can be requested (fair use copyright guidelines apply). FORM HERE or at front desk.
  • All appointments & consultations with librarians continue to be by Zoom or phone. 
  • All inter-library loan requests will continue to be by email or online form
  • Patrons may call ahead to check out an item and pick up at the desk.

Please note - There could be temporary changes in hours or closures of one or both buildings.  

Electronic Resources

As always, the University Library's electronic resources are available 24/7. If you need assistance with any resources, contact the library at or set up a phone or online meeting with a librarian.

Inter-library Loan & Document Delivery

Inter-library loan and document delivery services will continue to be provided by email or online form request. Articles will be delivered via email. Any requests for books or physical items may be delayed in the case of a closure (of our library or lending libraries).

Information Literacy & Research Instruction

Information Literacy Instruction and Research Assistance will be available by Zoom meeting/screen sharing. Email a librarian to schedule a meeting. Once the appointment is confirmed, you will receive an email with the Zoom meeting information and link for access.

Curriculum Support - Faculty can still request items for the library collection by contacting a librarian or filling out the resource request form. Electronic resource requests are evaluated and purchase decisions are made by librarians.


Credo Instruct Information Literacy - Faculty can integrate information literacy modules and assessments into Moodle. If assistance is needed, contact a librarian.

Other Faculty Resources

Reserve Items & Check-Outs

One chapter of a reserve book or up to 30 pages can be requested. Library staff will copy or scan pages. Requests can be made at the front desk, by online form, or by calling the Main Library at 768-1730 from 8am-4pm. Expect 1 day for fulfillment of requests. Times may vary depending on demand and staffing.

If there is a circulating item that a student or faculty member would like to check out and they are not on campus, library staff can check out items in the system and mail them to patrons by request.
